With baby #3 on the way and a new house, I have to really remember all the "baby-proofing" techniques. When my other 2 were younger, we had those ugly plastic plugs ALL over the house. They weren't very pretty and eventually my kids grew smart enough to figure out how to pull them out of the outlets. Not very safe if I do say so myself! So I already know I wanted to try something different.
When I got the chance to try out the coverPlug I was intrigued by the "Out of sight! Out of mind!" concept.
Babies are all about curiosity, so naturally it only makes since to take something that's everywhere and dangerous and make it invisible.
coverPlugs are extremly easy to use. You just paint the coverPlug to match your wall. The coverPlug is the only child safety product that is made of a material that is paintable. *It's much easier and less messy to paint the coverPlug while it's NOT attached to the outlet* lol
Then once the paint dries you just push the coverPlug into a double outlet. The prongs fit snuggly inside. And if you decide to change the color of your paint later on, you just simply re-paint the coverPlug to match.
The coverPlug camouflages with your decor so baby or house guests never notice it. I put mine in my daughters' room. The had an outlet that as right next to them while they slept. I always worried that somehow one of them would get something stuck in the outlet and it would zap them. So I crept in their room and placed the coverPlug onto the outlet and they never even noticed!
While I was trying to decide which outlet to use for the pictures, I did find that there is one type of outlet in my house that the coverPlug didn't fit.
I have on of these in my bathrooms and the outlet is just barely too long to fit the prongs. So if you have these kind of outlets around your house, I don't recommend the coverPlug for them. But your basic plug fits perfectly!
I just love how the coverPlug secretly keeps my family safe!
